for Regent’s Park and Kensington North and then Westminster North from 1997 to 2024. She was a founder member and long term Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Committee on Access to Justice, a former Transport Minister and served on several Select Committees including Home Affairs and Work and Pensions. She has a particular interest in housing issues, and took a Private Member’s Bill into law as the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act in 2018. She is currently the Chair of the South Kilburn Regeneration Trust and Co-Chair of the North Paddington Board.
